Where do people with criminal records look for jobs?

Not bad records that involve hurting anyone but themselves. I know someone close to me and I need to know what sites I can look on or what companies hire people with records.
Where do people with criminal records look for jobs?
Factories is the only thing I can think of. Tell your friend to also go to job placement places, they may be able to match him to an employer
Reply:... a record is a record.... although a if you mean like a misdemeanor, then you shouldn't have much of a problem with finding a job. Most employers will not cease to hire you just because you have a record, however, although the fact that you have a record does not automatically mean that you are not going to be able to get a job, if your conviction relates to something that has to do with the job you are applying for, (e.i. you have a petit theft conviction and you are applying for a job at walmart, or you have a child pornography conviction and you are applying for a job at a day care) you probably won't get it. Most employers ask that question to screen for convictions that would disqualify you for the job....
Reply:Either Alaska and fishing fleets, or they go back into criminal activity. I suspect that parole officers in your area would know of legitimate employeers in your area.

Sadly, the US imprisons 7 times more of it's population than more civilized countries like Canada.
Reply:Construction is about all you can do.

That's one of the things I don't like about the US. People who have paid their debt to society are still punished even after paying their debt and doing their time.
Reply:Go to your local unemplyment agency they can help you find companies....My mom is a felon
Reply:On the street corner wearing dark glasses and selling pencils out of a tin cup.
