I'm anxious to get back out there and put my degree to work, plus to make some money so I can move. Should I wait till after I have the baby, it wouldn't be very professional to show up to a interview with a 9 month pregnant belly would it? Or should I just wait and start looking and applying during my 6 weeks postpartum? If anybody else out there in this situation when did you start looking for employment after having your baby?
I'm due to have my baby girl in 3 weeks...when should I start looking and applying for jobs?
times are tough so sooner the better...but dnt push urself or over do it during those 6 weeeks remember to enjoy ur new baby =) but good luck and congrats on ur baby...
Reply:Getting a job nowadays is ultra-tough as it is. I would start putting resumes together and applying now, they may not even call you til after you have your baby. If they call you, explain that you can't start right away, and see if that matches their needs. If not, well, you move on. You can go to an interview 9 months prego, there's nothing "unprofessional" about it, and just explain you (obviously) can't start right away but want to be proactive about getting out there. They'll probably like your ambition.
Reply:i've been looking for work since my son was born 8 months ago. unfotunately i'm still looking. i'm a teacher with a master's degree and can't find anything, so frustrating. i'd wait until you delivered at least. i hope you have better luck than me!!
