You don't need a complete history of every job you've ever held. Start with the most recent and the most relevant to the type of work you're looking for. Too many dates on your resume will date you. The dates of employment are not as important as your accomplishments. I would list the dates for the most recent positions you held and then at some point draw the line and summarize all previous positions by your accomplishments -- something like:





Various other sales/marketing positions 1980 - 1992


* Facilitated management and staff development to ensure store growth and minimize turnover.


* Increased division profit margins by 10% for 9 of 12 quarters.


* Added an average of 50 new clients per year.
