I am 22 college student looking for occassional babysitting jobs. I need help with what to charge!?

I posted an ad and one man contacted me about babysitting. He has 3 children - 8, 6 %26amp; 3. He said he would only need me on occasion on maybe a Saturday and wanted to know my rates. What do you normally pay your babysitter for an evening?

When i worked in a daycare it was $3/hr for the first child, $2/ each addtional child up to 4 hrs. or $10 for first child and $5 each additional for up to 8hrs.





I personally pay my sitter $10/per night and If it will be longer than 10 hrs then I pay $5 overtime.
Reply:when i get a sitter for a night out with my hubby i usually pay $3/kid/hour.


i have two children so that is $6/hour....we go out for about 4 hours so my sitter makes $24 to watch two sleeping children.





You also could do a daycare rate...$3/hour up to 4 hours then $25 for 5-8 hours..something like that.
