I am looking for jobs in USA as a Doctor, can you please tell me how to get jobs for Doctor in USA?
i agree with mike they should be able to let you know what the requirements are to become a Dr. in the U.S.
Reply:to pass med license and requirements, USA is hardest country i hear for that
Reply:are you stupid or dumb
Reply:Well, that depends on the job you want.
In the USA doctors have to do many jobs. Friends of mine have had to clean offices, deliver pizzas, work in MacDonald, factories, sell lemons, clean toilets, etc, etc
After and IF you get a license, then you can work treating patients, but to get the license you must crush your...hem, toes studying, studying, and STUDYING.
By the way, the exams cost hundreds of $$$$, and purchasing the books also cost $$$$
The amount of study depends on each person. I had to study 33 books to pass the Step 1
I read in a marketing book that license to practice Medicine in this country is a monopoly of a group of guys
Reply:Unfortunately, the USA is a bit difficult for entry for foreign professionals in this field. You will probably have to do like like what my husband's parents did. They came from India in the 1970s and are now doctors.
1) First they needed to get their medical school credentials verified as equivalent in the particular US state they chose.
2) They then needed to take various exams, ECFMG, and MCAT. This costs $$$$
3) They then need to apply as residents in the appropriate program in the USA. My husband's parents got their start at Cook County Hospital in Chicago IL.
4) Then perhaps 2-4 years later, depending upon the program, they were qualified enough to get their MD licenses to practice in IL. They of course had to apply for different things for the State of Illinois, and pay appropriate fees...lots of $$$$$. This is how they got their MD licenses.
It particularly helps if you have a unique specialty that is in short supply. You may even be able to bypass some of this. There are visas available for those that qualify as "Foreign Specialists", if you are something of an Albert Einstein or Werner von Braun.
5) Once you get the license and credentials, you can then look for MD opportunities (pretty much anywhere in the USA within reason). It is like any other job search, and there are many headhunters that specialize in placing doctors.
The USA is not an easy market to penetrate for medicine.
Reply:I assume that you are talking about a medical doctor. (MD)
First , obviously you need to be a MD.
If you studied in the USA or in an Accredited Medical School you need to take USMLE Step 1, 2 and 3. You need to check on which state you want to practice because requirements are different and possible they will like for years of experience from a residency program. If you have your credentials in order then you can apply for a medical license in the state that you want.
If you graduated from a foreign medical school, you can contact the FSMB and check for the requirements. Likely that you have to take those tests anyway.
If you have the medical license already you can apply going to medical websites, or if you belong to any medical organization they sent information on their journals. Also you can check on the Internet.
PS. The Board of Medical Examiners don't give jobs to doctors. They only are involved with the licensing requirements. As soon you have the license then is your duty to find the job and your question was related on how you find jobs.
