Is there a specific site to look for jobs in Denver & surrounding areas?

Please don't say Monster or Yahoo Hotjobs..They suck.
Is there a specific site to look for jobs in Denver %26amp; surrounding areas?
Try the Denver Post or Denver Business journal - these are local papers with online resources that offer employment opportunities. if there is a specific company or line of worl you are interested in - type the company followed by Denver.

Also, you may try the local CVB (convention and visitors bureau) for assistance about job listings. www.denver.org has a section under Visitors that details Moving Here as an option. Good Luck!
Reply:www.craigslist.com actually has a pretty decent resource for jobs here.

Why was I asked at an interview how my job search was going and what type of jobs I was looking for?

Is this really any of their business?
Why was I asked at an interview how my job search was going and what type of jobs I was looking for?
I was asked that at two interviews as well. I think it's their way of seeing how interested you are in this job. I was honest with both employers and I got offered both jobs. I just said I had a couple of other things going on, but after the interview I still sent a thank you note saying I was interested. I now have an AWESOME job. Be honest but make sure they know you're very interested if you are.
Reply:More than likely, they want to understand where you are in your search. If you're far along, or just starting, it helps guide the recruiter/hiring manager if they're interested in you.
Reply:Yes its their business to know what type of person they are going to deal with if you had to be hired.

is a normal stupid old fashion way interview.

Sometimes asking you what type of job you looking for is a way of them to know where you can feet in their project if you are what they are looking for.

so all i can say to you when ever you go and interview always tell the truth about yourself and the things you like and do, who knows you may feet in their list and get hired

I am 15 years of age, and am looking for a job. What jobs in the Dallas area hire 15 year olds?

I don't know what country the first poster is in, but it's not in the US obviously. Companies can hire starting at age fourteen. However, so many jobs that were once delegated to teens such as fast food and grocery stores are now going to immigrant populations. Still, that being said, it is still your best bet. Grocery stores will be easiest and flexible with scheduling. Fast food places such as Sonic will be easier as well, particularly if you do not speak spanish as a first language. Regular restaurants will be easy as well, as at that age you can do things such as hosting if you present a confident and neat appearance. If being outdoors/swimming is fun to you for the summer, you might check in to lifeguard training. Between municipal pools, the Y, and the local waterparks (such as NRH2O, Hawaiian Falls, etc.), they are always trying to find enough lifeguard staff. Theme parks such as Six Flags also hire teens. Local rec centers are worth checking out too. Most movie theaters will hire fifteen year olds as well.
I am 15 years of age, and am looking for a job. What jobs in the Dallas area hire 15 year olds?
it's not against the law to hire a 15 yr old but you can only work certain amount of hours and until certain times of night.

When I was fifteen I got a job at an animal hospital at Jupiter/Lookout. I'm sure other animal hospitals would be willing to do the same. It's bathing and walking dogs, and cleaning up after them.

I also had a friend get a job at 15 at Spring Creek BBQ, this was several years ago but you could try.

A combination, definitely.

In addition to regular job search engines, try craig's list. Check newspaper want ads and job ads. Also, if there is a local store or business you would like to work at, go in and ask if they are hiring. Fill out an application. We used to call it "pounding the pavement."

The survey thing did not work out for me. It took me years to find the right company to settle down with for a lifetime. From experience, Jennifer
Reply:I am a mother of 2 and I work from home and TOTALLY love it! I make about $600-1000 a month working part time. The others on my team who work more hours make a lot more than me. I work as an independent consultant for Passion Parties. I basically give parties and people buy my products. It's kind of like Mary Kay but "sensual item" style. The products really sell themselves so you don't have to be good in sales. I make 40% of whatever I sell the night of the party. I don't have to wait for a paycheck. And, I also make a % of everyone who signs under me. If I make a certain amount in sales per month, I get bonus checks directly from passion parties too. It's a very legit company and I am so glad that I chose them when looking to work from home. They have been around for about 13 years and I have been with them for 2. I love it. Looking for job possibilities in the greater Orlando, Florida area?

I will be transitioning out of Active Duty Army. My final out date is not until June, but I wanted to get a jump start on a new job. I will be moving to Kissimmee, FL which is in the greater Orlando area. I am looking for some good job possibilities in that area. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Looking for job possibilities in the greater Orlando, Florida area?
http://www.osceolanewsgazette.com/ - this is Kissimmee's local newspaper which is issued every thurs. %26amp; sat., you can check the classified section for jobs, best to look at a specific job category than the employment category ;-)

You'll probably have better luck here:

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/classifie...

This is the Orlando Sentinel newspaper serving the greater Orlando area, you can search by a specific city or click on one of the categories for all job listings, they also have where you can post your resume and receive email alerts about jobs.

Good Luck %26amp; thanks for your service!!
Reply:In Kissimmee you'll be near all the Disney tourist area related businesses. So that would be a good start, especially since Disney World hires more employees for the summer season.

Other than that, the Orlando job market is very tight. There's a lot of people out there looking for jobs.

You should contact some Veteran groups to see if they have any job placement assistance.

Good luck, and thank you for your service!
Reply:right now, you will be lucky to find a job.

avaiable jobs may be McDonalds. or some fast food restaurants.

What is you specality? That may help...

Or the OrlandoSentinal.com (spelling not sure of)

Live here. Know that there are no jobs. The hospitals may be hiring some housekeepers and food service workers. Not sure though.

If your looking for a job and everyone is going for the untrain jobs,should not everybody who want a job train

train i something you might not like but just to get a good wage
If your looking for a job and everyone is going for the untrain jobs,should not everybody who want a job train
Loving the Answer above - he dares to make fun of someone else's grammar but can't actually spell. The word is GRAMMAR.

In answer to the question, yes, of course you're correct. People who have training and qualifications always have far more prospects than those who do not. But, why not find something you do like? There are loads of different areas that you could train in so you're bound to find something that you do like.

Plus, even if you think you don't like something now, you might learn to like it. Usually your interest in a particular subject will increase naturally after you learn more about it. And remember that many people's enjoyment of work is derived from the people that they work with, rather than from the actual job that they do.

Also, qualifications can be beneficial even if they're not in the field that you work in. There are vast numbers of university graduates whose degrees are in a field unrelated to what they work in, but that doesn't mean that their degree is worthless.
Reply:Grammer teaching positions are not for everybody!

Why do pet supply stores do this, when hiring or looking for job applicants?

Why do pet supply stores (including Petsmart stores), refuse to interview and hire a qualified job applicant that has knowledge in animals?

I have been in 4H when I was a kid, and I know a lot of things relating to pets. I have been with animals all my life. I have been refused an interview, when I qualified for the job. I have what it takes to work for a pet supply store, but none of them will even interview me.
Why do pet supply stores do this, when hiring or looking for job applicants?
if you really want the job (or the interview for that matter), you need to be more persistent. did you call them every single week to see when they'll have time to interview you? how does your application look? perhaps start with that. if you simply put on there that you grew up with animals, that is not enough--you need to beef it up. why don't you go in there on monday (dressed nicely as if it were an actual interview) and ask to speak to a manager. Let him/her know that you're interested and tell them a little about yourself. don't go off about how you grew up with pets. instead, walk in there and tell them that you love animals, yet lack the experience, but you're a fast learner who is willing to learn. then throw out a closing question. something like, "when can i come in for an official interview, i'd really like to work here. what's better for you, mornings or afternoons?"
Reply:Yea... Have you worked elsewhere? You're not just working with pets at a pet supply store, you're working with people. Also, are you old enough? No criminal record? Do they actually NEED any more personell?

If not, there are probably just more qualified people applying, or there could be a prejudice issue or something of that swort.
Reply:Because knowledge is one thing having experience is another. Maybe you never worked at a retail environment before. So, try to apply elsewhere and gain some experience before applying at Petsmart stores. You need at least a year of retail experience before working at Petsmart. Good luck.
Reply:they may not wnat someone knowledgable because you might understand their bad conditions that most people wouldn't
Reply:Perhaps you could focus your energies to work at an animal shelter, or similar.

I am under 15 and I am looking for a job other than babysitting. What are some jobs I could do?

Here's a short list of jobs which you can create to generate income:

1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item.

2. Become a "poser" who assists wedding photographers in setting and arranging various individuals in group and single photographic positions. "Posers" carry around a sketch book of various sitting and standing poses which consists of onion skin overlays of various wedding pictures bound in albums. Again, contact local wedding photographers and wedding planners, accordingly. The hourly pay is around $10-$12 per hour and you are often invited to attend all dining activities.

3. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor's equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.

4. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.

5. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.

6. Become a proxy/stand-in for neighbors to allow delivery of goods and packages to your home/apartment. Acquire the authority to sign any receipt of incoming packages as an accepting neighbor. Charge $1 per each package handled by you.

7. Consider becoming a restaurant-cafe customer liaison by using your cell phone at restaurants-cafes to coordinate with the hostess to keep track of waiting customers. Whenever there's a very long period of time to activate a waiting list, you want to offer the restaurant your services so that customers do not have to stand around for any lengthy period of time. And when their name/assigned number comes up; you can call the upcoming customer's cell phone to tell them that they can return to the restaurant and be served. The call back fee is usually around $0.50 cents on a per head basis. For example, a couple would be charged $1.00 while children under 6 would not be charged. Placement of a plaque which outlines your fee schedule near the hostess station is sufficient to garner attention of prospective customers who will value your services since they can do other activities outside of the restaurant -- often beyond the range of any inhouse paging system. You realize that everyone has a cellphone and why not take advantage of the connectivity to make the diner's experience worthwhile. The restaurant will also appreciate the added service you are providing as a customer liaison.

8. Why not become a paid feeder servicing the disabled at nearby nursing, convalescent, assisted living/care centers and hospitals. It involves feeding food to patients who are unable to feed themselves. The starting rate is $8.00 per hour. The only downside is that one has to take precautions to wash one's hands after each feeding. A posting of your services [by a business card or flyer] on a reviewable bulletin board would be enough to generate customers. The paid feeder position is one of the fastest growing occupation at this time.

Good luck!

Is the end of the year a bad time to look for jobs?

I just re-enrolled in college. I calculated it out and will end up being a December graduate. There is no way I can take more classes to finish sooner in the year. Is December a bad time to graduate and be looking for employment? Should I stretch out my schooling so I graduate in March?
Is the end of the year a bad time to look for jobs?
I do not think it is ever a bad time to look for a job. As long as you look for one.
Reply:Anytime is a good time to look for employment.
Reply:right now is the best time as stores like walmart target are hiring for the winter season so get out there and good luck :)
Reply:As long as you are qualified, there is no bad time to look for employment. You may want to go to an employment placement agency or "headhunter" to help in your search...These are different than a temp agency because they look to place you permanently at an establishment that has a long term job available
Reply:Whew! To graduate earlier, the better! Don't be too much affected on that ok? The fact is there are several companies that are continiously hiring. Just be positive! You'll find the right place for you in time.

Paula

Reply:I understand your sentiments. I graduated from college in December. Yes, it is kind of tough during winter months..especially late December, January, and early February. Companies seem more intent on laying people off at end of year reviews than hiring people. However, there are still some opportunities...companies still interview during these times. I talked a career counselor briefly about this..and he said that companies will interview but will tend not to start people then. I think this is true of most recent graduates..they might want you to start later. If you are experienced, the job opportunities might be less, but you should do more research and target specific companies. Another option, is to go on vacation during the winter to celebrate your graduataion and start looking in late January and early February. Best of luck.
Reply:You know, I think it might actually work to your advantage. Companies look at their budgets either at the end of the quarter or end of the year, so they may be considering adding more employees during the next financial period. You'll be in the door long before your spring graduating friends will be out of school.

Get done with school and start looking for a job, even prior to graduation. Most employers don't care if you're not completely done, as long as graduation is coming up soon.

Looking for jobs within the Federal government (Canada)?
You need to apply via the Public Service Commision of Canada. Here is a link http://www.jobs-emplois.gc.ca/menu/alljo...

This site also has links to the websites of other Fed Govt Organizations who do not hire through the commision and do their own hiring (eg. Bank of Canada, Canada Post, ect) Just do a search for your province and at the bottom of the available jobs through the commision, are some links for 'other governmental organizations'

If you are wanting to work for a Provincial Government, they too have their own Public Service Commision sites

Looking for jobs in working mans clubs?

It depends on what kind of job you're looking for. If you have an artistic talent you could do a stage show, or if you're good at interacting with people you could be a waitress or something, if you passed your maths at school you could even work as an accountant and count the money when people buy things like beer and crisps. Or if you're a tidy person you could probably do all the cleaning up and if you're big and fast there's always a job in security.

Or if you're all of these it might be worth telling the manager who interviews you that you're after their job.

I'm looking for jobs part time?
G'day,

I used to be an international student in Australia as well.

Have you tried the job in the university/college itself? Sometimes you can find it advertised in their own website (employments). Also, are you active in social clubs? Sometimes the churches/religion clubs may be able to give you leads on who to contact to.

Just want to remind you that you can only work max 20hrs/week during study period, and full-time only during holiday period.

Hope this help. Good luck on your job hunting :)

The list is unlimited. I personally have found some of the sites to be very useful depending on the desired location. WorldJobSites.org is a directory of jobs around the world. GulfJobSites.com focuses on the Gulf region. Aarknet.org is an excellent free to use job portal used by thousands of employers/ recruiters and job seekers.
Reply:Unfortunately those kinds of jobs don't get advertised on websites. A company has to pay to advertise and companies will get 100s of direct applications from people to do those jobs, so it would be a waste of money.

My advice if you want to get into that is to find a list of companies and send your CV to them directly. This will take some research (e.g. on web), but is your best and probably only opportunity.

Bear in mind that these jobs tend to pay peanuts. They have so many people wanting to do it that they have no reason to pay well.

I am 15 and looking for a jobs what are some things that i can do in my age?

i Need money to buy stuff i am tired of asking My moM she wont give me any money i need to make my own.
I am 15 and looking for a jobs what are some things that i can do in my age?
A 14- or 15-year-old, youth cannot work:

More than 3 hours a day on school days, including Fridays;

More than 18 hours per week in school weeks;

More than 8 hours a day on non-school days;

More than 40 hours per week when school is not in session.

The child labor rules also determine where a youth can and cannot work. A 14- or 15-year-old youth may work in retail stores, food service establishments and gasoline service stations.

He or she may not work in:

Communications or public utilities jobs;

Construction or repair jobs;

Driving a motor vehicle or helping a driver;

Hazardous jobs identified by the Secretary of Labor (which will be described on the next page);

Manufacturing and mining occupations;

Power-driven machinery or hoisting apparatus other than typical office machines.

Processing occupations;

Public messenger jobs;

Transporting of persons or property;

Workrooms where products are manufactured, mined or processed;

Warehousing and storage.

The rules also specify what kind of jobs a 14- or 15-year-old can and cannot do.

The jobs a youth can do in the retail and service industries include:

Bagging and carrying out customer's orders;

Cashiering, selling, modeling, art work, advertising, window trimming, or comparative shopping;

Cleaning fruits and vegetables;

Clean-up work and grounds maintenance -- youth may use vacuums and floor waxers, but cannot use power-driven mowers, cutters and trimmers;

Clean cooking equipment, including the filtering, transporting and dispensing of oil and grease, but only when the surfaces of the equipment and liquids do not exceed 100掳 F;

Delivery work by foot, bicycle, or public transportation;

Kitchen work in preparing and serving food and drinks, but not cooking or baking (see below);

Office and clerical work;

Pricing and tagging goods, assembling orders, packing, or shelving;

Pumping gas, cleaning and polishing cars and trucks (but youth cannot repair cars, use garage lifting rack, or work in pits);

Wrapping, weighing, pricing, stocking any goods as long as the youth doesn't work where meat is being prepared and doesn't work in freezers or meat coolers.

The list above explains what jobs 14- and 15-year-olds can do in retail stores, food service establishments and gasoline service stations.

But there are some jobs that a youth may not do:

Baking;

Boiler or engine room work, whether in or about;

Cooking, except with gas or electric grilles that do not involve cooking over an open flame and with deep fat fryers that are equipped with and utilize devices that automatically lower and raise the baskets in and out of the hot grease or oil;

Freezers or meat coolers work;

Loading or unloading goods on or off trucks, railcars or conveyors;

Meat processing area work;

Maintenance or repair of a building or its equipment;

Operating, setting up, adjusting, cleaning, oiling, or repairing power-driven food slicers, grinders, choppers or cutters and bakery mixers;

Outside window washing, or work standing on a window sill, ladder, scaffold or similar equipment;

Warehouse work, except office and clerical work.

Remember, the youth may work for a parent in a solely-owned non-agricultural business except in manufacturing, mining, and hazardous jobs (which are listed on the next page).
Reply:15 is a great age for making money! Now you're old enough (in Canada, at least--I don't know about the US laws regarding that..) to get a job!

At almost any age there's always McDonalds. However, a slightly less greasy choice is always Dairy Queen. You have to take a look at your interests and what you can put up with at a job. Look into it, find out how much you'd be paid, and make a resume. Even if you don't have any work experience, you can put volunteer work on there, etc. Look for local jobs in smaller businesses for a more tightly-knit environment, or look at bigger corporations (such as Cineplex) for jobs that involve more people.

If you don't like the idea, get a paper route! Its great exercise, and its a very steady job--you know in advance what your schedule is and it never changes! Good luck finding a job!
Reply:Mow lawns , work on a farm
Reply:paper route, cut grass, garden, run errands
Reply:You don't need money. What you need is an education. Start with learning how to write properly.

How far back should I look for jobs on MSN/Yahoo?

I've been applying for jobs on internet websites (MSN/Monster, etc.) and I'm not sure how far back to go to find job listings. Is it one, two, three weeks? Any ideas?
How far back should I look for jobs on MSN/Yahoo?
If you are just starting your search - go back as far as the system will allow which is usually thirty days. After this check back daily.

By doing this you catch all the openings that you can - generally, when an opening is filled the posting is removed - or the site is contacted and you will receive a message stating that the position has expired.

It's good practice to go back as far as you can bcz it will allow you to see who is hiring for where - and if a job looks interesting then you can visit that site directly and see if they have any similar postings. On the flip side, once you have been searching for a while you might see the same company listing the same position, it may be a red flag for you that there is turmoil there and they cannot keep employees...in which case you want to avoid them.
Reply:You should go with the most recent listings. Usually if you go back too far, the position by then would probably be filled already. Also, you could email the company and find out how many positions are open. With the larger companies more than one position is more likely to be available. If you go back three weeks, even if the position is already filled, sometimes if they really like your credentials, they may keep your resume on file for some other job you would be qualified for with their company. You should not go back further than three weeks. On your resume be sure to list all your significant experience and keep updating it, as well as your skills, education, and so forth. Good luck.

Where do people with criminal records look for jobs?
Factories is the only thing I can think of. Tell your friend to also go to job placement places, they may be able to match him to an employer
Reply:... a record is a record.... although a if you mean like a misdemeanor, then you shouldn't have much of a problem with finding a job. Most employers will not cease to hire you just because you have a record, however, although the fact that you have a record does not automatically mean that you are not going to be able to get a job, if your conviction relates to something that has to do with the job you are applying for, (e.i. you have a petit theft conviction and you are applying for a job at walmart, or you have a child pornography conviction and you are applying for a job at a day care) you probably won't get it. Most employers ask that question to screen for convictions that would disqualify you for the job....

Looking for work at home jobs that are "real" Im not looking to get rich but I'd like to know if there are any

Looking for work at home jobs that are "real" Im not looking to get rich but I'd like to know if there are any
Yup, I love what I do! I've been doing in home spa parties since January and it's been really great for my family and I. Like you said, get rich schemes are not very realistic, and this is certainly a business you have to put some work into. I make an average of $400 or more if I put more time into it.

The parties are FUN and take about 2 hours. I go to a home, set the spa experience up, and everyone gets to treat their hands and do a 4 step pedicure treatment. Everyone adores the parties and I have no troubles getting bookings that suit my schedule. Plus, because it is a small but quickly growing company, there isn't really any competition for what I do out there!

If you're interested, check out the sites below and then email me at sabrina@spagirlparties.com. I can email you more info, no strings attached. :) I know what it's like to need the extra money, and because I actually really enjoy what I do I'd like to share the info! (And fyi, I have never ever considered any other company that does parties... I found this one and something told me to try it - it's been so fabulous for us!)
Reply:I have tried a couple of the "work from home", "use the internet in your spare time" type jobs. I never found one that really worked. I'm not saying there isn't something out there, but be prepared to be in an MLM scheme where only the top tier really makes anything worth while.

You said you aren't looking for a get rich scheme. Have you considered Avon, Tupperware, Mary Kay, etc.??

My wife has been doing AVON for about 8 years. It takes a while to get to a point where you can be consistently profitable, but it can be done with enough effort. All of these type jobs are essentially the same. You make money by selling items to your customers. The more you sell the deeper the discount from the parent company, which means the greater your profit. Unfortunately, you have to purchase the marketing materials to distribute to potential clients. And you have to know what your local laws are about distribution of these materials. I know it is illegal everywhere to place them in the mailbox. Federal offense, you don't want to go there. Around here there are hooks on the sides of mailboxes you can hang them from, so it works well for driving around, you don't even have to get out of the car.

It does take alot of work to get established. My wife was not consistently profitable until two years ago. But, she could have worked harder at that earlier on, even she says so. There is a lady in Connecticut that does $1 million a year in Avon sales, she works her tail off and has a small staff to help her. So it is possible, but your rewards will be directly related to how hard you want to work.

If the reason you want to work from is because you want something easier than going to work every day, then none of these jobs would be for you. You would never be able to support yourself or your business, much less a family on these if you are looking for easy.

Good Luck.
Reply:OK well after months of research I have found that most of these "opportunities" are a big scam.

A few things to look for are: do they have a real brick and mortar office that is located in the U.S.? If not be careful because a lot of these so called "businesses" are over seas and those tend to be a huge scam.

The other thing to look for is do they have a Dunn and Bradstreet rating? Dunn and Bradstreet is credit but for a business and not an individual person. Check and see if they have a good Paydex score (like a FICO score but for a business).

Having said all of that I work from home as a loss mitigation specialist and I love it. I get to help people who are in or near foreclosure and I make money doing it. I love it.

I have 15 years experience and I am having trouble with being underemployed! Keep trying! Its a horrible economy right now! I have been put on call my last 9-10 shifts missing out on $5400.00 dollars of income planned for taxes! I feel desperate at times, but I wake up with food in my mouth and a place to live, so I can only count the blessing's I have! Enjoy and cherish what you have. Pray and hope for what you have not! Don't give up, keep trying! I will pray for your comfort and success!

What are the most common sites to look for jobs online?

I know Craigslist and usjobs.gov but I want to know if there are other job searching sites possibly better than the ones mention or popular too.
What are the most common sites to look for jobs online?
If you are in the UK, best site I know is

www.monster.co.uk

But when I had to leave going to sea and needed a job ashore I also the employment agencies like Blue Arrow and Manpower very well worth checking out for vacancies. Because a lot depends on what sort of hours you are willing to work and what your qualifications and work experience is, as they can match up this with what vacancies are in your own area a lot better than you can yourself so a personal visit there can be more fruitful than trying to do it all from home on your PC.
Reply:Monster.com is a great job resource.

Hotjobs.com is good too.

Careerbuilder.com is popular.

There are also many job search websites that are industry specific,

so if you're looking for a job in restaurants or hotels (for example),

you can go to hcareers.com or hospitalityonline.com.

Hope this helps.

Looking for jobs in Dubai?

My husband and I live in Hyderabad and we are looking for jobs in Dubai. We have tried various places online and have even posted our resumes on various sites, but to no avail. Our jobs here are pathetic and we have no social or family life whatsoever. We have our minds set on Dubai and are eagerly trying to get jobs there and relocate.

Could someone possibly help me out with this. Anybody working for a consultancy out there reading this, please help. Really really need all the help I can get. If someone could direct me to some job opportunities, it would be great.

Thanks

Is it possible to look for jobs in Perth without a car?

I am a new migrant so probably would not buy a car for a start....intend to stay near the CBD. Would public transport bring me to most of the places I need to go for interviews?
Is it possible to look for jobs in Perth without a car?
I'm with Billybean, if you plane to live and work close or within the CBD then public transport is the go. Its ridiculously subsidised to the point where you entire travel for the day will almost certainly cost less than just your car parking. Buses in the CBD are free too.

Then again if you live in the suburbs and are going to somewhere other than Perth CBD, the system is crap. For example to get to a recent place of work from my home (8kms as the crow flies) required three bus changes, an hour travel in all and I would have to walk almost as far as I rode.
Reply:Hi there, no not really. Perth is very spread out so it will be quiet a bit harder to get a job without a car.

Good luck, Perth is a cool city.
Reply:Just search for a job in the CBD because most people there don't drive to work anyway! Public transport is known to be good but you wouldn't want to be travelling too far from where you live (hense the reason for getting a job in the CBD)

It would be better having a car because being in a new city (and country) it may be difficult to find your way around using public transport. But there are many people that do it!
Reply:If you plan on living and working near the CBD, then no, a car would be as much of a hindrance as a help - think traffic jams %26amp; expensive parking.

Perth is very small really. You can walk the lenght of St George's %26amp; Adelaide Terrace in under 30 minutes.

On the other hand, if you plan on working in one of the more outlying suburbs, then a car becomes quite a necessity.

What is the best way to look for jobs in Australia?

Reply:Definitely do :)

If you've tried seek, mycareer and linkme, then try COMPASS GROUP...

http://my.compass-group.com.au/portal/pa...

They specialize in hospitality jobs, including cleaners/kitchenhands for the mines in Western Australia. It depends on which state you are living in... but I would sign up to agencies INTEGRATED, Hays, Skilled Recruitment and Hudson - go to www.whitepages.com.au for local contact numbers (I'd provide them for you but don't know where you are)

Time are definitely tough at the moment in our current economic climate, so if you can, try and hand out your CV to local cafes/restaurants/bars/catering companies/cleaning companies... depending on what you are looking for. A lot of local companies are cutting down on using agencies to save the fees, and by handing out your CV you are increasing the chances of gaining employment.

Best of luck with your search :-)

Learn to think BIG and work for yourself. Don't get in the habit of working for someone else. Here are a few ideas.

Work for yourself.

1. rake leaves, cut grass

2. grow roses, tulips, tomatoes, lavender etc in your yard and resell them

3. buy candy, chips, soda and sell it

4. do housekeeping, laundry (not for strangers)

5. paper route

6. find if they have a junior acheivement in your area

search for the other young ladies question like yours.

Good Luck !

There aren't a lot of jobs you can get at 13 that would pay much. You can maybe babysit, walk dogs, help neighbors with chores. Most companies don't hire 13 year olds.

How can I look for jobs in my area?
You can look on the web, obviously, but as a student looking for an entry level job what's wrong with driving around town and looking for job available signs. Also, many coffee houses have bulletin boards that list help wanted. Since you aren't looking to be a brain surgeon this can help. Also, ask around? Where are your friends working?

Then You should submit your resume to leading jobsite like www.monster.com, www.careerbuilder.com. Also you should consult local placement consultant in your area. My husband and I have been looking for jobs? What do I do?

We used to own our own business, sold it and our new venture doesn't look like it can support us for awhile. I've been getting lots of interviews and job offers, he hasn't gotten any response except a former employer who may/may not have a job for him in the near future. He is not feeling too great right now, he is frustrated and doesn't understand why he isn't hearing anything and I am getting the opportunities. How do I make it better for him, it is difficult to watch him go through this. I believe he will get something, but his skills are different and he has a degree (I don't have a degree, but an extensive background in managing people and offices). His degree isn't really directly related to what he's done. Any suggestions? It's breaking my heart (he's 37yrs. old and has struggled before) He won't just apply for anything either.
My husband and I have been looking for jobs? What do I do?
I would suggest to you that you be supportive in his efforts and try to help him the best you can. Its not easy when both are unemployed or the income isn't enough type pressure and Men handle these things differently, we still have that little gene that says were a failure if we can't provide kind of thing, so don't worry and be there for him, hes vulnerable and unsure and scared all rolled into one.
Reply:what do you do? this is the time that is ----stand by your man.
Reply:just take a job and work until you find a better one!
Reply:A little sugar can go a long way. You don't have to coddle him and bake him a cake for him to know you support him. A little kiss, a little look, a little kick in the pants once in a while, he'll know you care.

At the same time, he's 37 and struggled before, watch out for a lifetime of this. He may be a lane-changer, so, be prepared to change lanes many many more times.

Good luck.
Reply:Have him go to a professional to tweak his resume, sometimes that is all it takes. Good luck......
Reply:First, tailor your husbands resume to fit the job he is applying for. Second, LIE. I know it sounds unscrupulous, but so is the business world. If you were self employed, an employer can only verify the existence of the business and the rest is selling himself. When it is said that employees should put forth 100% or more, here is what they mean:

a=1, b=2, c=3, d=4.......z=26.

B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T

%26gt; 2+21+12+12+19+8+9+20 = 103%

A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E

%26gt; 1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = 100%

Good luck!
Reply:Y U got so many jobs offer? why degree holder likes non graduate?
Reply:he needs to go to social services. after he decides to apply for something and help himself. he needs to stop being lazy. he would get the opportunities i he looked for them.
Reply:You can start your own web site but what you put on there its up to you ;)
Reply:Maybe thats his problems he is being picky. He is either feeling out applications where he is over qualified or not qualified enough. If the degree is not helping he should use the same info your using to get a job since he was part owner too. Or he should look for jobs where they can see he's smart and a jack of all trades. Tell him sometimes he has to take what he can until he can get something better. He can even take something part time to free his time to find something else. He also might just need to change his resume to fit the job he wants, as long as knows he can handle the job. I fixed my resume to get get the job I wanted and after proving myself that I could be a jack of all trades they love me. And I really had no experience except working for personel friends.

Where to look for jobs for minors between 16 and 18?

Is there a website that list local stores that are hiring? I have no idea where to start to look for a job. I'm guessing there's an easier way than walking into local stores and asking for a job? How do if a place is hiring? Whats the easiest way to look for a job?
Where to look for jobs for minors between 16 and 18?
Best way to find out is to ask. Usually only places that take part-time workers will take minors due to labor laws/school requirements.

Suggestions: fast food restaurants, retail (the Gap, Macy's, Borders, Staples, Best Buy, etc.), Starbucks, etc. I asked a store if they were hiring, and they said no, not at the time. However, when I heard that they were hiring, I went and was given a job. The HR manager had conducted an impromtu, informal interview and liked me. She remembered me when I came in to formally interview.

Ask your friends where they are working and if they're hiring.

You can try monster.com and other larger career sites, but they typically are aimed toward fulltimers. Try craigslist.org for some ideas. Some sites aimed towards teens include snagajob.com and summerjobs.com. Good luck!
Reply:You should ask around and see where your friends work..it all depends on where you live. You should try working at an amusement park or waterpark or something fun like that!
Reply:Go door to door in your town and ask..try looking for organizations that hire minors or can get minors jobs..there are a few youth programs that help you find jobs..or like I said get dressed in causal yet nice clothes and walk door to door and ask..If you don't ask they dont know you need a job and if nothing else someone in store might set you to the right direction even if they don't hire you ..
Reply:the best way to get a good paying job as a minor is to start as a dishwasher.yes it is demanding work. but a job that requires perfection. No one wants dirty dish's. especially a patron and it looks great at future jobs.

You DO have to check with them to see if it's ok to SELL anything off it though, some don't allow that. But you will have to pay for internet connection (if you're using a computer at a library I think you need to arrange for some other way to be online).

The main problem is getting people to find you. There are hundreds of thousands of sites up and for people to buy your product or service they have to be able to find you online. Networking is a good way, and posting on boards where your services could be a plus is good, provided you aren't spamming the lists.

I've seen very nice one page sites (one was a lady who saved all her aviary parakeets molted feathers and was selling them by the bagfull). You don't need something huge or with all the bells and whistles to be effective.

Best way to go about it is to find something you either LIKE to do quite a bit, or something you're good at, and figure out which niche market your abilities can cater to. There are a lot of niche markets that mainstream shops and sites don't even touch.

This is the same for ALL businesses. Don't go into a business you don't thoroughly understand.
